hello guys.
it's grey and cold over here at the city ... ew =(
well at least it's the perfect weather to stay indoors all bundled up!
here's a short film and a short video that i saw a while ago that is so cute!!
i was able to meet Zhang Jingna last weekend. it was such a great experience because she's my most favorite photographer (aside from TIm Walker!)
i also finished a pencil drawing! here it is ..

( dust )
my sister and i are going to be producing 13 illustrations each to compile into a joint-artbook. we are hoping to sell it during otakon of next year. really excited about it. for me it's going to be all based on the japanese culture like kimonos, fireworks, things such as those.
i was looking at the guggenheim museum site and came across this painting ... it's so magnificent and it really made me miss fine arts:

by: Maurice Prendergast
and that's really about it! i'm going to draw and make good use of my free time toay and get ready to get back to new jersey! doing a shoot with mary tomorrow and i'll be doing a few self-portraits too for my photography project!

good evening!!
on sunday my mum and i shared the kitchen and baked together. i really really missed my mom and doing things with her!! and i also got to play the piano again!
anyway i put together an apple crumb pie (supposed to be double-crust but i made too little dough! sigh. so i had to whip up some crumbs!) while my mom baked spiced cookies with crystallized ginger and cappuccino cookies rolled in cinnamon sugar before baking! she also roasted japanese yams and sweet potatoes. the smell was so divine ... it's what i know autumn to be; spicy, sweet, and warm. it makes you want to curl up before a fireplace with a blanket reading a weathered copy of a sweet winter tale. it made me wish for snow. lots of it. back in first grade, there was one winter day when my teacher told us that it will snow if we wore our pajamas-inside out and dance before we sleep. i danced that night, with my sister playing along and helping me get into my pajamas inside-out. and the next morning i woke up to see my entire tiny town covered in blankets of snow.
a few days ago i dreamed that i was in my friend's room and she had a closet that opened up to a swerving pathway sheltered with arches of trees, leaves, pink roses, and vines ... and the sun was coming through and everything glimmered like diamonds.
this week college was very stressful and at times maybe a little too harsh for me. it's just that i can have a faint heart sometimes and be extra sensitive to people who can be critical or just don't care about others ... but of course, there are always those who really do make you smile, and give it their all to make you laugh and help you straighten up!!
anyways, today i went to brooklyn botanical gardens for a photoshoot!! it's for my photography project ... here it is!!

until next time loves! it's midnight and i got class tomorrow!!!

hello loves!!!
i know it has been a while. since my last post i've been to delaware with my sister and her boyfriend. it was so much fun ... we had cookouts and i was responsible for the desserts and baking. i made a nectarine and almond cake, mango puddings that were to die for, coconut wafers with vanilla bean ice cream, and baked mushrooms stuffed with ricotta and ham. we went to the beach there and had orange creamsicle ice cream and amazing boardwalk fries with apple cider vinegar. it sounds odd but it i swear it is really delicious!!
and that really marks the end of summer for me. art school has started and i LOVE IT. lovelovelove it!!! nyc is amazing as i expected it to be. i've been to stores filled with every kind of ribbon trimming from feathers and pearls to lace and frills, thrift stores and costume shops, chocolatiers', japanese bookshops, libraries, art supply stores ... you get the idea. :-)
but those adventures were during breaks between classes. when i go back to my bro's apt to do work, i am busy all the way!! sometimes i forget to breathe! but that said, photography class has been so fun!!! we have a book project ... i have to make a book. my topic is of a surrealistic, fantasy, and dream-like nature, so definitely something to look forward to!! i already had a shoot with Mary, but that will be in a different post. i don't have all the images at the moment.

self-portrait taken for class!
i had a strange dream earlier ...
it was a dark, blistering-cold winter night. it was lightly snowing and there were stars out above. i felt an alarming sense of danger ... and i was with a boy, dark haired and taller than me, clad in black. under a long canopy of arched christmas-lit trees, we were both running as quickly as we could, on the lookout like hawks. as we ran, he told me to lower my head as if i should try not to be seen. then he put his arm around me and we ran on like that, under the starry night sky and twinkling trees, with snow flying in our cold and numb faces. and i swore i heard distant laughter all around us.
i'm going to Dumbo today with my sister! It's in brooklyn, a little neighborhood full of art galleries, bookshops, fashion boutiques, a chocolate factory, ice cream, and a french patisserie!! yes i am definitely taking my camera with me. :-D

lastly, please tell me what is going on! i haven't been on for so long and i've love to be able to know how you're all doing!!

Hello!!
Umm so much has happened the passed few weeks! Anyway, I was able to go down to the beach for a few days with Sheda and Katie and her family! It was SO beautiful down there ... we went to the beach and the sky was clear as day and oh god, the smell of the OCEAN :-D We visited many antique stores down there, and there were rooms full of vintage cameras and binders of war photos and posters from way back when, rusty bottles full of keys and tarnished rings, piles of old lace and patterns, records, aging broadway piano scores, diaries and photobooks, thick leatherbound books ... there was a lot of stuff.
We stayed at katie's aunt's beach house. it was a cute little vintage house!! Katie's mom made blueberry pancakes the first morning we were there, and they were divine!! The night her parents left, we played cards, watched Big Fish, played a nonalcoholic drinking game, and took pictures. The next morning Katie's mom left us a box of big billowy apple doughnut fritters for breakfast. I really loved it down there :')
Let's see what else ... oh, I went to a bbq recently, one held by my sister-in-law's uncle at his place. His house is perched on the top of a grassy slope that curves down into miles of grassy fields, ending with tiny lines of trees. I stood in the center of the view and looked up and saw the huge sky above me, with thick rolls of gray rain clouds. I felt very small. I live for these kinds of moments though :') It kind of added fuel to the fire ... I want to travel all over, but recently I've been thinking of the farmlands of France, where people there grow their vegetables and milk their own cows because the market is so far away. I also want to go to Colorado too! And Vegas :-D And of course, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and Hong Kong again :-)
I went to Katie's house today!! Sheda, her, Chris, and I baked brownies together. :-) I miss them so much!

( ++ and cream puffs!! )
I'm going to Delaware for five days next week! I'm joining my sister at her boyfriend's house. We're going to ... BAKE!!! and shop. and go to the beach. and have wicked fun :-D

saturday was my brother's wedding! it was so much fun! he looked so handsome and yen, the bride and now my sister-in-law, looked absolutely beautiful. it's strange, but whenever a significant event such as this happens, i never want to write about it. it's like it's a handful of memories that i just want to stow away in a pretty music box and keep to myself ... and go back to it when a vague inclination reminds me of it. but i was able to see so many beloved people there (got to see
sight and
ryokucha_chan!!) ... so many of my friends from ny! i already miss them all.
because of my brother's wedding preparations and the actual event itself, i've been so busy and mostly just read, played the piano, collected things for my idea-books, and sketched a lot of ideas. i'm reading city of masks, beauty, seven tears into the sea, and singer in the snow at the moment.
last note:,
